Buttons, Press studs, crochet hooks and struggling with heavy duvet.

My right thumb is getting weaker and its getting difficult to do up buttons and press studs. Struggled this morning trying to do up my press studs on my duvet. Also winter duvet is heavy for my weakened arms and pulls on my shoulders.
I am making a babies matinee jacket and due to my weakened right thumb, now beginning to struggle holding the hook right. I may put on my splint to continue.

Hey Jackie x

I struggle with (and avoid!) buttons and press studs... hate the damn things!

I let Claire do up the duvet cover... shame none of your three dogs have opposable thumbs lol.

A thought... do you still have that cleaner coming to help you? Could you time your bed clothes change with her visit and ask for her help?

I've just picked up the knitting needles again to have a try... been years since I knitted. Started learning crochet too... so yes I can appreciate it getting fiddly! My cross-stitch I'm doing makes my hand ache after a while but I do it in short bursts.

I wouldn't want to give up my crafty stuff as I love doing it.

Have you used your splint whilst crocheting since you posted this? Is it helping?

Yes I may try my hand splint. I do sometimes leave the bed changing to my cleaner, but she comes monthly and what with dirty paws on my bed!!. I have left some press studs undone.

Ahha... monthly... yes that explains it lol. and I can sympathise with the mucky paw prints!!!

Interestingly, our current duvet cover (IKEA) doesn't have press-studs or anything... the end is just open.
